After a nice quiet night in Port, Washington, we fired up, made our way to New York. From Long Island Sound we took the east river pass the upper Eastside, Queens and Brooklyn. My mom was born in Brooklyn so I sent her a picture thinking maybe she could see your house! Lol. We made our way to New York harbor where we saw the Statue of Liberty. It’s very majestic and really cool. We drove around for a while in lots of traffic, and then moved up to Ellis island. Ellis island is pretty cool, but doesn’t have the same Appeal as the Statue of Liberty.
our marina is right behind Ellis Island. It’s called a Hudson Point Marina. It was a quarter of the cost of going to the famous liberty Landing, Marina. Liberty landing is directly across from us. We feel like we made a great decision.
after we docked, we settled in, washed the boat and picked up. We then took the subway over to World Trade Center. We saw the World Trade Center Memorial, which is the hole in the ground. They made the holes into pools. Then we went up. The freedom tower looked around, which was also very cool. However, there was a smog in the air was not clear so we couldn’t see very far. Then we took the subway back to the boat. The manager here told us about a taco place. Chicklette is a huge taco person. So we’re going out looking for it. Stay tuned!
