21 April 2025

it’s been quite a while since we have made a post. We are getting ready to head back to the boat in Grafton Illinois on April 27.

lot’s has changed since we have stopped our loop journey on October 23, 2023. I had my stent put in and I’m fully recovered from the heart attack. That’s a relief! We’ve been skiing and golfing and doing all kinds of activities so my heart‘s in good shape. last summer, I discovered a spot on my head and was diagnosed with melanoma. We were scheduled to head back and finish the loop in September 2024. However, with a diagnosis of Melanoma and unknown of what treatment, we could not make that trip. I had the melanoma removed off my scalp and one positive lymph node on my neck. After the surgery, they find no more cancer in my body. That is quite a relief. So at this point, I think I’m in good shape and ready to tackle the next adventure.

After much discussion, Shannon and I decided that it wasn’t in the cards for us to finish the great American loop. Therefore, we decided over the winter that we are going to go back and pick up the boat the spring, and bring it back to our home port in Newington New Hampshire.

we thought about many things on whether to continue or not. We realize that if we didn’t do it this year, it would be our third year without using our boat. We didn’t want to do that. We really wanna go out and take the grandkids fishing and take friends out fishing and just use our boat in the best cruising area in the world -NewEngland!

On or about April 29 we are going to make a dead run from Grafton, Illinois, which is right outside of St. Louis. We are going up to Chicago, around the top of Lake, Michigan, down Lake Huron, into Lake Erie, through the Erie Canal, to the Hudson River, to New York Harbor, to Cape Cod, Canal, and then back into New Hampshire! We are hoping to have all of this done by June 1. We have a few days built in for fun, but we are really going to be pushing most of the time. Stay tuned for our adventures. We will post as we find cool things along the way. Thanks for following us!

yes Mavis is making the trip with us. She is very excited!! Lol
