7-27-23 onto the Trent

we left Kingston and got out in the open Ontario lake on our way to Trent. We needed to crank up the engine to burn out the carbon. Worked like a charm. Trent had a really nice marina which we spent a couple of days at. It was a nice stop and we barbecued and generally had a great time. Then we worked our way up the trent for the first day and did six locks. Then another six locks and anchored in this little bay, which just happened to be in-front of the lock masters house! He said he had not seen anyone anchor there before. We are trend setters!! then another six locks then stopped . Today were in Peterborough Ontario, which was our third day here. It’s a nice town. The little river band is playing for free in the park. We have had we’ve had a blast. When we leave we will go up the largest lift lock in the world! Excited to do that. I will post a couple pictures here of the lock, but our next blog will have more pictures. Mavis is still doing her thing sleeping, eating, pooping and entertaining people.

  1. Loving all the pictures and narratives.
You leave me wanting to be there with you.
    Sail on😁

  2. Wow!! So great!… and interesting. You must be champs at the locks now!
    Enjoy 😊

  3. Love following your adventures. I expected you’d be sailing across Lake Ontario and then crossing Lake Erie (my mom lives on Lake Erie)… hadn’t realized you were traveling via the Trent River. I’ve never been to Trent… been in the vicinity driving the 401 out to my mom’s place, but not to Trent itself. Looking forward to seeing pictures of that BIG lock. Stay safe! Thanks for posting and keeping all of us “in the loop”. Get it? Loop!!! Lolol (yeah, I know… that’s why I have a day job!) Hugs, Jeff
