Excuse little delay in our blogging, but we’re back! We left New York City in the smoke and ended up in Halfmoon marina in Croton New York. Nice little marina. We had a great time. The staff was awesome. Next morning we got up and headed up river to Kingston, New York. Stayed at this little marina across the river from the town. We went across on the dinghy to old Savannah restaurant and met up with several other bloopers. It was a nice evening!
Next morning, we Ubered to Walmart for provisioned. We did laundry and then we headed north.
we passed West Point! Go Army!
Our next stop we anchored outside of Catskill New York for the next night. Felt like we were in the middle of the river, but we were actually in only about 6 feet of water. It was a nice night got up in the morning it was bright and the smoke was totally gone and we relaxed before we headed out.
Day three after leaving New York, we ended up at Donovan‘s shady harbor marina. It was a mini looper convention going on there. At one time there where 35 Looper boats there. It was a great weekend. We met tons of people. They had a live band and a pig roast on Sunday. This was a great stop!
we got up on the morning of the 12th and headed north. We had a half tank of fuel, but thought we should top off!! It hurts when we stop for fuel! A little ways up went through our first lock. The “Troy Federal Lock” was our first experience with locking. We came out alive without any dents or scratches on the boat or on us!!! It actually wasn’t as bad as we thought it was going to be. At the present time we’re sitting on a wall in Waterford New York. Just below lock number two. in the morning we’re going to pass through five locks within about 1 mile. This is going to be interesting . Then will be off for somewhere else, who knows where that will be. Make sure to keep following us for more of what we’re up to. Lucky & Chicklette
